A Day at Legoland
Sunday, March 25 our family attended a "very special" birthday party at the new Legoland at Phipps Plaza. The children (mostly seven year olds) had a great time! One little boy said he thought that Legoland was very interesting! The thing that I liked the best were the lego buildings that depicted all the important skyscrapers and business areas in Atlanta. The kids loved the rides and especially all the opportunities to build lego objects! It looks like Legoland will be a big success for Phipps Plaza and Atlanta.
We also enjoyed chips, guacamole and yummy chesse dip at the Moe's restaurant
that has recently reopened there. Johnny Rockets and Subway will be joining Moe's alongside Legoland and the movie theaters soon. Check them out!

American Roadhouse and Village Theatre- two of my favorites- together at last!
How pleased I was to get a call from American Roadhouse– one of my favorite restaurants of my wild single years! I remember many a morning or a very late night where my friends and I chowed down on American classics like burgers, pancakes, eggs and toast! My best nights in the Virginia Highlands were always topped with grilled cheese (arguably one of the best in the city) and fries from AR.
So, after 25 years of serving great food in the Highlands, I am so excited to announce that AR is opening a downtown location. The new store is located at the very cool Pencil Factory Lofts. So after dining, you can run your errands with ease at one of the other great merchants in the complex! And to add to the excitement, we are thrilled to announce that our friends at Village Theatre have also moved into the Pencil Factory Lofts! They are having the Grand Opening this weekend (March 23 & 24). Run, do not walk, to catch an improv show at the Village Theatre!
Mike King and his fellow cohorts are literally the funniest people in the city. Now if only I could eat grilled cheese while watching improv....

A Night out at the Fox

On Sunday, March 18, I had the pleasure of going to the Fox Theatre and seeing the play, Billy Elliot. What a treat! After debating about being inside on such a beautiful spring day, the play won out and we're glad it did. After listening to the upcoming list of plays for 2012-2013 series, we even bought tickets for the upcoming series! They include: War Horse, Beauty and the Beast, Flashdance, Million Dollar Quartet and Sister Act. It's great that Atlanta is attracting plays that in the past you could only see in New York!

It's a Small World after all...
My first week at Urban Enterprises has been great. I am so excited to be working with such a dynamic group of talented people. I have been in the commercial real estate industry for 15 years in the shopping center industry in the areas of property management, development, marketing and leasing. I look forward to helping take the company to its next level of success. I have used Urban Enterprises for the past 10 years as a vendor while I was the Retail Marketing Manager at Perimeter Mall and the Specialty Leasing & Sponsorship Manager at Atlantic Station (North American Properties). I was/am one of their biggest fans and I can’t believe that I am now on the team. You just never know what the universe has in store for you. It is a small world after all; so don’t ever burn any bridges.
My primary role at Urban Enterprises will be to bring in new customers for both our staffing services and promotional distribution in Metro Atlanta and beyond. The World….well at least the Southeastern U.S.A….is my oyster. In my spare time I am a Mother to two amazing little boys and love spending time with them and my husband at our lake house on Jackson Lake. I also enjoy writing and sharing my years of experience by writing articles from time to time for Specialty Retail Report Magazine. Here is a link to my Fall 2010 article Picking Profitable Product. Please contact me if you are interested in hearing more about the services that we can offer you at Urban Enterprises-Starr Cumming, Director of Business Development.

Clyde n' Bonnie: A Folktale
Tonight is opening night! For the past month I have been honored to be a part of a world premier musical written by Broadway's Hunter Foster and Rick Crom. Clyde n' Bonnie: A Folktale light heartedly tells the story of Bonnie, Clyde and the Barrow gang. The show is directed by the incredible Lonny Price and choreographed by the equally impressive Josh Rhodes. I will be playing the role of Blanche Barrow, the vivacious preachers daughter married to Clyde's brother Buck. This entire experience has been an amazing whirlwind and I will be excited to see where this show goes after its Atlanta premier!

Newk's Lunch
The ladies and I were treated to lunch at Newk’s in Brookhaven before we started our coupon distribution. The concept is great- order at the counter and find a table and have your food delivered to you in no time at all. They also have a separate to-go/catering counter AND a grab and go station; three different options to suit all kinds of lunch clients. I ordered the 5 cheese pizza which was so much MORE than just a boring 5 cheese pizza. It has mozzarella, Parmesan, provolone, goat & smoked Gouda cheese, sun dried tomatoes, fresh basil and pesto. The dough is light and cooked perfectly and the pizza for 1 is perfectly filling! It was an early lunch, but I wasn’t hungry well until dinner time. The service was great and fast and the experience was very enjoyable. If you work in the Buckhead or Dunwoody area, look for coupons in your office in the next several weeks! Email me to make sure you receive their great offer!

Monday Dinner @ Smashburger Windward
I was visiting my mom in Alpharetta on Monday evening, and she offered to bring home dinner on her way back from the office. I was craving a burger but didn’t want fast food/drive thru. I remembered that we did a Smashburger distribution a few months back for the Windward location and decided to send her there so we could try it out. She got the Mushroom Swiss Burger on an egg bun with Sweet Potato Smashfries and I created my own: A Smashburger on an egg bun with avocado, tomato, red onion and blue cheese, also with a side of Sweet Potato Smashfries. The meal was DELICIOUS. I love that even though its take out, their food is made to order, and they give you options of such great unique and fresh ingredients. I definitely think the Smash is the perfect amount of beef as well- not too much bun, but not too much falling off the edges. Also, other burger joints tend to overcook their burgers so that the meat is dry and totally well done (which I hate). This was tender, juicy and still cooked through. It was a great meal and perfect fix to my burger craving. With 5 locations around Atlanta (Buckhead, Sandy Springs, Kennesaw, Johns Creek & Windward), we’ll definitely be back!!
