Passion, Politics and Paintings

I was recently given the opportunity to attend a sneak peek of the newest exhibit at the High Museum of Art dedicated to the art of Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera. Their love story is intriguing and one that most definitely comes out in their art. Particularly when it comes to their political beliefs and personal tragedies. For Frida specifically, the urge to paint came out of necessity. A terrible accident left her bed ridden and therefore painting was her only form of expression. It was incredibly moving to see her story unfold through her art. The High Museum of Art was lucky enough to be chosen as the first US display for this exhibit of combined works. An honor for the museum to present this show that holds more than 25 percent of Kahlo's total artwork. It is also the museum's first completely bilingual exhibition with both Spanish and English versions of all texts and audio tours.
Urban Enterprises was thrilled to do a neighborhood distribution for the High Museum to help promote this exhibit. Our street teams reported an incredible response from those we encountered. It is clearly a highly anticipated exhibit, and definitely not one to be missed. ~Caitlin

Let's Rock in 2013
Urban Enterprises was thrilled to host our 2nd annual "Let's Rock" in the New Year party at Hard Rock Cafe's Velvet Underground. It's a wonderful chance to celebrate the past year with our clients and office team. In 2012, we passed out 2 million coupons and expanded our markets to encompass additional Southeastern cities. We are also excited to toast to 2013 being an even greater year! Shayne introduced the newest members of the Urban Team, Kelly Greene- Staffing Coordinator & Brad Gibson- Marketing Coordinator. We'd like to thank Hard Rock Cafe's attentive serving staff for their hospitality, Last Five Standing for their awesome entertainment, and Brandon Polack for his photography. Thanks to all of our clients who were able to make it out and celebrate. Let's Rock in 2013!!~Kelly S

December Staff Spotlight- Tracy Moore

1. How long have you been working for Urban Enterprises? This is my second project with UE. I've been working for Urban Enterprises since October.
2. What do you do when you're not working? When I'm not working for UE, I'm usually working somewhere else! I teach after school drama, and work in marketing for Theatrical Outfit. I also act every now and again.
3. What do you like best about Urban Enterprises? UE provides a unique opportunity for employment because it's so flexible. I love working at the Atlantic Station Santa Set because kids seeing Santa provides hours and hours of adorable.
4. How did you find out about Urban Enterprises? I've done 3 or 4 (or maybe 5? I lose count) shows with Caitlin. Since UE is always looking for people to work events, I was happy to help out!
5. Who in Hollywood would play you in a movie? I can tell you who WOULDN'T: Lindsay. Lohan.
What makes Tracy the right choice to be our project manager for our largest holiday staffing event? Caitlin says, "I've seen Tracy in action as a leader, and I knew she would be the perfect fit for my head elf."
Thanks to Tracy for doing a great job with the Santa set! See her in action in Atlantic Station's Central Park, now through Christmas Eve!

Dutch Valley Food Truck Wednesdays
Our office is in Parkside Piedmont on Dutch Valley Place, and there are no walking distance lunch options near our office. Our awesome building manager Doug James thought it would be a great idea to have a food truck come to our lower parking lot once a week, and he asked us to make it happen! We reached out to some connections and were thrilled to feature Mix'd Up and King of Pops today.
It was a gorgeous fall day, and we had a great turn out For lunch, I had the Sante Fe, one of Mix'd Up's signature dishes- a black bean burger topped with pico de gallo, cheese, chipotle mayo and avocado (YUM!). For dessert, I picked up my favorite flavored pop (Banana Puddin')
and I enjoyed an outdoor lunch on a very beautiful fall day. Like us on Facebook to stay tuned for next week's truck announcement as well as day of menu postings! See you at the food trucks!~Kelly

Serenbe Playhouse

The settlement of Serenbe is found in the heart of Chattahoochee Hill Country and is a completely ecologically sound sustainable community. Serenbe Playhouse was opened three years ago and all productions are done outside using all of Serenbe’s gorgeous surroundings as their set and backdrop.

I recently started rehearsals for their upcoming production of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream which opens June 28th and runs through July 15th. With an amazing cast, breathtaking costumes and lighting and even live animals, this show is a not-to-miss. Come to Serenbe and explore this community and get your tickets for what’s sure to be a Midsummer production unlike any other!
