Get On Your Feet!

Founded by Anne Mahlum in 2007, Back on My Feet (BoMF) is a national nonprofit organization that is dedicated to creating independence and self-sufficiency within the homeless population by first engaging them in running as a means to build confidence, strength and self-esteem. The organization does not provide food or shelter, but instead provides a community that embraces equality, respect, discipline, teamwork and leadership. Through dedication and hard work, Members earn the opportunity to create a new road for themselves by advancing to the “Next Steps” phase of the program where they gain access to educational, job training and employment opportunities, as well as financial aid.
The organization has had incredible results with 75 percent of members consistently maintaining 90 percent attendance at morning runs. Fifty percent of members successfully move from dependency to an independent lifestyle. If you would like to donate to the Atlanta chapter, please click here. ~Jess17

Elevate Art in Downtown Atlanta
Urban Enterprises is thrilled to partner with Peachtree Center to sponsor The City of Atlanta Office of Cultural Affairs Public Art Program (OCA/ PAP) Elevate Art. Artists and art collaborators have been invited to apply for funding support to develop temporary public art projects throughout locations in central downtown Atlanta. OCA/PAP will present innovative projects for interior and exterior public spaces throughout downtown. Elevate Art seeks to stimulate awareness of the physical environment in Atlanta and interact meaningfully with audiences. Keep a look out for an exciting temporary art project to be placed on the exterior of one of the Peachtree Center towers and throughout downtown. Peachtree Center is one of our favorite clients and uses us to manage their guest services program, Green Market and coupon distribution. Find out more information here! ~Jess

Congrats to Peachtree Center!

Central Atlanta Progress recently acknowledged them as a Platinum Partner due to their outstanding participation in Transportation and Sustainability programs. This is determined by a list of criteria established by the Clean Air Campaign such as having an Acting Employer Transportation Coordinator, assisting with the development on an on-site vanpool program, supporting and bike/walk program and more. Their goal is to help support programs which will help increase Atlanta’s air quality.

Not only are they making a difference in the environment, but they go out of their way to make their tenants happy as well. Peachtree Center covers exactly 19.6 million feet, which is nearly 14 city blocks in downtown Atlanta. So, needless to say, its home to many workers, employers, etc. Parkway Realty Services, with the help of Urban Enterprises, has helped to organize monthly outdoor concerts, live jazz concerts in the mall, along with a weekly Green Market held outside in the courtyard. We’re so proud to work alongside a wonderful group!

Green Market at Peachtree Center Welcomes Peaches!
Green Market at Peachtree Center is excited to welcome a new vendor, Pearson Farms, specializing in sweet Georgia peaches and pecans. For nearly 100 years, the Pearson family has been growing peaches, pecans and more in Crawford County, Georgia.

They suggest this recipe for Peach Cobbler:
Ingredients:
1 stick butter
1 cup self-rising flour 1 cup sugar 1 cup milk 1 teaspoon vanilla 4 cups sweetened sliced Georgia peaches from Pearson Farm with small amount of juice
Directions:
Melt stick of butter in Pyrex dish in the oven.
Mix flour, sugar, milk, and vanilla and pour over melted butter. DO NOT STIR. Spoon peaches over mixture.
DO NOT STIR.
Cook at 350 degrees until brown and bubbly, about 40 minutes.
Serves about 6.
Don’t forget to visit Green Market at Peachtree Center every Thursday from 11:30am to 2:30pm through October!
