The impetus to take over the family business began early for Shayne Walsey. With Urban Enterprises, she learned how to compute payroll at 13, could be found secret shopping retail outlets as a teenager and started as a Greeter at Perimeter Mall during the 1996 Olympics. This hands-on knowledge was combined with the highly-tuned business savvy that Walsey gained while earning a BBA in Marketing from the University of Michigan.   Today she serves as President of the company, managing all aspects of the business from client relations to employee hiring. The fresh attitude Walsey brings to Urban Enterprises has recently attracted clients like Ringling Brothers. Parkway Properties, and Atlantic Station.

Who is your idol and why?

My mom – what an amazing woman.  She started and ran a successful company while being an excellent wife and mother.  She is incredibly kind and unselfish while also being smart and strong.  She is an inspiration – and one of my best friends.
